Arusha

I reached Arusha town yesterday at 11am and i was received at the airport by Mr. Alloys Mutabingwa, he is the GOR representative at the ICTR.
He is a smart man.

The drive from Kilimanjaro airport to Arusha toen centre is so long, infact longer than that from Entebbe to Kampala in Uganda. It took over 50 minutes. HAD i not found Mutabingwa i would surely have suffered greatly but i was lucky. I was to be lucky many more times untill now.

He took me to a hotel known as Diamond Motel, which later the little shop lady nearby Tripple A night club told me was very expensive for someone travelling from Nwanza and staying in Arusha for two years. She promised to get me a cheaper house in which to stay wher some Zimbabweans were sleeping.

I met Alloys in his office early in the morning.and i got the story that will most likely be my first story to be published.

In his office i had a chance to meet Rugira Jean De Diue, he is a correspondent for Radio Rwanda. Rugira offered to house in his house as i look for a cheaper alternative for a house. Im going to his house tonite.

Good man that any stranger will be happy to meet.
We had lunch at his apartment and he helped acces the press card.
Arusha is a nice town its flat, has a good chill buit can get quite cold in the evenings.

I have not moved around very much but so far everything has been well for me.
The food here is also very poor quality especially when you are used to having a good hot meal prepared by your own designs.

Hare eating places are dirty tough the people are generally nicer and much more open.
I trhink its because i introduce myself as having been born in Mwanza, where i only of one Esther witi whom we went to university.

Ther are also many Gangsta Massai, they are wrapped in thier well woven red checked, robes like they are christmas presents and they carry around sometimnes very expensive Nokia phine. The Masai here move with short sticks that resembe the famous rod that President Daniel Arap Moi or Mobutu used to carry around whiole old horses were favouroite for staged Kodak moments.

So the Masai will be moving about with their rods, phones and large ear rings which have further elongated the ears.Thier ears are so huge because of the rings that thr ears are the size of an elephants.

They sit just about everywhere, what i have learnt in onme and half days of living here is that the Masai will sit anywhere should the need to sit ARISE, it doesnot matter whether he is standing infront of someone's house, office of in the middle of a road junction.

I had the great opportunity to watch United whip Chelsea-the Englisg pretenders in Moscow and i was happy that finally Didier Drogba's childshness came out at a momnet like that.

I have always believed Drogba is one huge baby that combinmed with Essien, you cannot look further for effective leg breakers that akways dodge the eye odf the refrees.
Peace
